Sodus Pt 5/ 5
Place was cozy but was told I could swim off shoreline and use community dock. Would of been stuck in weeds if I tried to swim and dock was six ft long and in need of obvious repair. Also not owners fault but place down below had 2 annoying dogs who constantly barked! Was nice place and enjoyed the view and fire pit at night was great! Would recommend for a quick getaway!
We really enjoyed our stay at Sunshine Cottage. It is a quaint cottage with a spectacular view 5/ 5
This is a cottage and was everything we expected. It was exactly as described. The view was spectacular. The only thing missing for us was air conditioning, but we would stay here again regardless.
Clean house, but needs a lot of work 5/ 5
House is nice but needs updating. Really needs air conditioning. It doesn’t have its own driveway and the stairs are very steep to climb up to the house. The windows should all be able to open but one big window in bedroom was unable to open. The bathroom needs a lot of work.
Very cozy cottage 5/ 5
We really enjoyed our stay here. Nice view of the bay and spacious little cottage. The beds could be a little more comfortable but it was well worth the money.
It was great 5/ 5
We truely had a great time. The house was well equipped and we wanted for nothing.
Clean sweet cottage A+ 5/ 5
Cottage was beautiful. Clean and much more spacious than expected! Traveled with our two teenagers, two dogs, husband and myself. Plenty of room. Bathroom was very clean which is such a plus. Stairs are a bit of a hike but can be avoided if you ask permission to access from other properties! Jan was a pleasure to work with!
Good place to spend a long weekend 5/ 5
We (two couples and friend) had been there from June 30 to July 3. I like this place. There is quiet outside and clean inside. The beach and good parks are close and easily accessible. The manager Jan is a nice and helpful person. Some negative comments: There is no Internet, only fans instead air-conditioning, the door inside bathroom didn't lock. Generally I recommend to spend there a few days.
Mixed feelings. 5/ 5
It's probably unfair to review as lakeside cottages go, as we've only ever stayed at one other cottage. The woman who assisted us with our stay was very nice and very helpful. Unfortunately the weather was not ideal for being lakeside and the water everywhere was extremely high (which I understand kept boats out of the water) which of course, is no fault of the owner. It was nice enough from the cottage standppoint, but too dated for my taste. Firstly, the house is physically tilted in the inside. I felt tipsy all the time. Not a deal breaker, but odd. The big drawbacks for me were no wifi or air conditioning and the cable service was awful. The lack of wifi wouldn't be bad if the phones could have roamed and picked up service, but that was impossible as well. The only way we could check messages, etc., was to stand in the doorway of a local real estate company, which was closed on the weekend. Fortunately, the air conditioning wasn't needed (in fact, we were quite chilled at night) but if it had been, we would have been miserable. Just a window unit would make a difference. And the cable service was the most bizarre setup I've ever seen! Programming straight out of the 50's-80's! Repetitive. Mind-numbing. It is a lovely area and very quiet if that is all you need. And I'm sure under better weather conditions, the lake would be very enjoyable. But if a modicum of modernity is required, I would recommend different accommodations.
Picturesque location 5/ 5
I had a wonderful holiday weekend away with my family. We loved being right by the water and spent lots of time by the fire pit and paddling the bay. The location was convenient to several wineries, a cidery and a few breweries. The house itself was clean. We were missing some basics like salt and oil in the kitchen and soap for the shower, but it was a great deal for the price. I'd definitely return with the family again. Jan was very attentive and responsive to our needs.
Just what we needed 5/ 5
The property was perfect for my families quick long weekend! It was exactly as described and Jan was easily reached with any question we had! The fishing was wonderful, the town of Wolcot and the people there are great and sodus point was beautiful!

this place was a very big dispointment. 5/ 5
My husband uses a cane or walker to get around. When we arrived we found the cottage was not waterfront and it had a steel stairway we had to climb. There was no air conditioner and a few fans which did nothing in the 90 degree weather. I was putting chicken in the oven when I notice the oven had no racks. I cleaned the sweet corn and had no big pan to cook it in, every thing had to go on the grill which was in very bad condition. The place was not aired out and it took hours to get fresh air in there so we could stand the musty smell. I have used VRBO in the past and was very happy, but never again and I will not recommend this site to anyone.
weekends getaway with a view 5/ 5
I really had a nice time plenty of room for two couples two couples and some kids nice and clean big bathroom lots of things to do in the area for a long weekend and you don't have to go anywhere you can stay right there eat right there and have fun and activities right there at the cabin where you can go outside the place

we had a great stay. Everything was nice and clean. Jan communicated with us throughout and always made herself available. This is a spacious 2 bedroom cottage with a full kitchen and bathroom. I love that all the bedding and bathroom towels along with a few beach towels were available, so we did not have to pack those extras. We highly recommend this for a small family, or even a great girls retreat!
little yellow cottage 5/ 5
This little yellow cottage was very clean and the furniture very comfortable. The cottage has a large living room, dining and kitchen area. The Master bedroom has a large window with a view of the water from the bed. I kept all the windows open for the perfect breeze throughout the whole cottage. The bathroom is comfortable and she shower was great. I had a girls weekend and this cottage was perfect get away. With the covered side porch we basically spent one whole day there having wine and ordered pizza (which actually got delivered). Great spot to relax, enjoy friends, boat, bbq, and if you so desire swim off the dock. It is 20 mins to Sodus Point and to Fair Haven if you are looking for large sandy beaches. Take a day trip to wineries. We had dinner one night in Sodus Point and took a wine tour in the fingerlakes. I plan on going back to this little yellow cottage as much as I can and would recommend this spot to anyone. I had a brace on my foot and had no trouble getting around the cottage and yard. There are steps to get to the cottage, but also a drive way the neighbors let me use. everyone is very friendly there.
